I had an idea. A web browser extension for YouTube. for firefox or chrome. (i use firefox) Like you can put in a year and it only shows videos up to that year. So like a time travler for YouTube. That would be so cool! Dose it exist? Do you know of any extension that do that?

Everybody's go ideas, yet nobody exerts themselves to read the answers, let alone develop aught.
The youtube api reference for videos contains a property called "fileDetails.creationTime", not sure whether it can be queried as a range. The code samples available there are quite detailed, so it shouldn't be too difficult to test with minimal knowledge.
I've had a similar thought regarding retrospective search engines for a while, but having witnessed the internet evolve for many years I don't think it would be a remotely comparable experience - bar archive websites, many are either dropping content or dropping dead to keep up with the influx of data. I suspect many old and marginal videos will have been erased by now. Anachronisms are quite fun, nevertheless.
