I would buy silver ingots or coins and hide them at home. If you are in a country that charges a tax on silver, then buy gold ingots or coins. The day is fast approaching when silver or gold will be the only money. For instance, India has dishonored two large denominations, causing great loss to many people and much confusion because there are not enough smaller bills to conduct normal business. Of course, if it was a huge amount of cash, then I would be sensible and put it into a savings account or invest it. 

Then I'd buy a new home, nothing overly expensive and buy a car. I 'd take my family out on a slight shopping spree and pay off some of my bills.
