SORRY FOR THE LONG, BIG POST, BUT PLEASE READ WHAT I HAVE TO SAY...
I had a car accident in 2009, and it left me with severe, chronic pain.
I'm a 26 year old male from Australia. These are my radiological findings:
I have 4 vertebral compression fractures in my thoracic spine, at the T3, 4, 5, and 6 levels. The worst damaged has lost 35% of its height anteriorily. I have an exaggerated mid thoracic kyphosis. I have Spondylosis in my upper thoracic spine. I have degenerative Osteoarthritis in my upper thoracic spine. I have Degenerative disc disease at the T3 and T4 levels, with a 2mm right posterolateral disc protrusion, which is putting pressure on neural (nerve) tissue, which is causing occasional paresthesia of my thoracic spine (numbness/pins and needles, tingling, prickling sensations). I have development of facet joint arthropathy at multiple levels with Osteophytosis and Sclerosis. I also have a curving calcification along the soft tissues (dystrophic calcification) of the facet joints in the lower thoracic spine, at the T10 and T11 levels.
Do you think I warrant long-acting Morphine pills here, given all of this degenerative spinal trauma?
I had an X-ray done of my thoracic spine last year, and it showed that I have anterior wedging of the vertebral bodies T3, 4, 5, and 6. Then I had another X-ray 2 weeks ago, that said the same thing. Several vertebral compression fractures, the most damaged has lost 35% of its height. I had a CT AND an MRI scan in the last 7 days, and it did not show ANY of the vertebral compression fractures?
How could a CT and an MRI not pick up vertebral compression fractures?
I have had several advanced imaging procedures done. First X-ray, then CT, and then MRI. My GP has examined all 3 reports, and she is saying different things about each one. Should I go to another doctor, show him/her ALL of the scans together (X-ray, CT, and MRI), and see what he/she says? My GP is a very young, chinese lady, who speaks good english, but I think she is not telling me the whole truth about how bad my back problems are, because I suffer with anxiety and panic attacks. So she is obviously making light of the findings in the reports because she does not want to precipitate me into panic. Your opinion?
Should I gather all my reports together and see another doctor?
