ok so this is my problem...i got a best buy credit card and with my initital purchase i had 0% fin...for 18 months.....my credit card had a limit of 3,000 dollars...i made other purchases on the card...i knocked my bill down to 2,000...well the 18 months is up and now they charged me the entire intrest rate on the 18 months and they claim i never told them that i wanted my payments to be directed to knocking down my intrest..instead they just have been knocking down my little purchases.....what company in their right mind doesnt take a year and a half of me paying them and put my money to something useful! not 20% percent intrest on 60 dollar video game.....so basically i started with a 3,000 dollar limit worked it down to 2,000 and after a year and a half of paying them...i owe them 3,100(even more then what my credit line is is!!!) unbelievable

Most credit cards with a 0% introductory rate state in the fine print that they will pay off your other items first, and will charge you the full interest if it is not paid off, therefore you need to obtain a zero balance before your time is up. Most likely, wether it is fair or not, they are doing what they said they would do. You can read the fine print and check, but you are most likely stuck paying the balance. I did the same thing when I was younger and now I don't use any credit cards unless I have the money to pay off the purchases each month.
