Would stud finders or a metal detector find rebar in a concrete block wall?

I don't think a stud finder would because I think they work by detecting great changes in density (an empty cavity vs a 2 by 4). As for a metal detector I do not know. If I had to guess I'd say it depends on how far from the surface it is and how good of a metal detector you have.
