Thank you for reading this! I am a junior in high school. I know that the normal response to "is skipping class bad?" is yes, but that's not what I'm asking. Here's the situation.

Just so that nobody accuses me of being some rebel, I will explain some of the details.

I am taking mostly all the hardest classes, and have had a lot of homework. It was easy at first, but due to my Psychology class giving out large packets of homework every single day, I fell behind in some of my other classes. I actually begged the vice principal of the school to get me out of Psychology class, I even cried in front of him because I was so frustrated, but he said there was no way to get me out because juniors in the district are required to have 7 classes (8 all together, but one is a free period), which I actually found out later that one of my other Junior friends has two free periods.

Anyway, because Psychology is only an elective, and I find my core classes to be of more importance, I stopped focusing as much in Psychology and started only really doing my other classes work. I started getting more and more homework in my other classes, and I kept having thoughts while in Psychology along the lines of "I don't even do anything in this class anyway, it'd be nice if I could do my other work right now" and a few times I'd even tried to do other work in that class. But the teacher always gets on me, forcing me to take notes and do my in class work.

One day, with my mom's permission (she understands my stress from the class), I skipped a day of class. I attended that class the next day again, however. What ended up happening that day, though, was the teacher wanted to make an appointment with me regarding my grades... I ended up skipping that appointment too-- not wanting to face the teacher after that, I skipped another day of class.

SO, long story short, my mom gave me permission to skip Psychology class, I've already begged the school to get me out of that class but they refuse to let me out, I've skipped two days of that class so far.... I wish to skip that class for the rest of the semester, and if I were to do that, I'd have skipped approximately 24 classes in all, and I spend the skipped class doing homework from other classes....

I just want to know if anyone thinks I could get in bad trouble for that? A friend told me that you can get a "truancy officer" on your ass if you skip too many classes, but it's not like I'm aimlessly skipping, it's one specific class. My mom plans to come in soon and demand that they take me out of the class, so I'm hoping they might listen to a complaining parent more than they'd listen to an average upset student.
