Would any laptop be better at this point??

Details:

My laptop lags when I open Google Chrome, after a while it runs smoothly but then when I come across YouTube it can barely even play 720p videos without interruption

Added 3+ months ago:

even 480p videos run badly, and my games take up all the cpu just by running on the menu screen
