I worked in Afghanistan last years and was employed overseas for more than 365 days. The IRS still took taxes from each pay check. I am eligible for the overseas earned income tax exemption. Will I get the money back that the IRS still took from my pay even though I met the 365 day tax exemption?

They take it according to what the rules are to their guidelines it's very possible you can get that money back when you go to file see if that tax rule applies to you it should.
