I've had a job for about 9 years in a service role at a hospital. I've been working with this one person, we'll call her Sue, for 6 years. when she started I really liked her but as the years went on has become more moody and rude to me. She will give you the "silent treatment" for no reason. (and does it to control our boss to get her way) So, a few weeks ago I overheard her and another co-worker "Patty", talking about me making lies to make me look bad (you know, gossip) I should of said something but I'm meek. Then a few days after that I was commenting on a new job process, Patty told me to take it up with Sue. I said that "I don't talk to her as much as possible, she's rude" (I shouldn't of said that.) Well, Patty told Sue what I said. And Sue pressured my boss to write me up for it. This is where it gets a little funny/sad. During our breaks they bad mouth and gossip about EVERYONE, including patients, that being a HIPPA violation! So, I started taking break at different times to avoid them and the gossip as much as possible and keeping everything I say strictly to a 100% professional level. Only problem is Sue won't talk to me. Really, I'm fine with it but I feel like I'm going to be the one that gets in trouble for "anti-teambuilding" or whatever. I guess thats how the bully works... Make it look like its you who are wrong. Just wondering what I can do to combat this negativity.
