Will the presidential and congressional elections in 2014 and 2016 give the Republicans/GOP firm control of the White House and both houses of Congress which will mostly last well past the year 2020? Will the Democratic Party be so discredited by the presidency and federal administration of Barack Obama that it will remain a semi-permanent minority party until around the year 2040 or so?
Will the 2014 and 2016 elections represent a realignment in American politics?

There is no way I can predict the future. But I hope that with the Grassroots ("Tea Party") Movement on the rise, power should remain in the hands of Republicans and "conservatives" until either of these three scenarios happen, which they might:
1. The Republicans abuse their power instead of being faithful to the wishes of their constituents.
2. There may be a division in the Republican Party resulting from scenario #1, where Republicans abuse their power.
3. The Democrats realize the error of their ways, cease being closet socialists and communists, and revert to believing in individual liberty, particularly along the lines of John F. Kennedy and Democrats of the 19th century.
