My lease doesn't specify who pays the electric (I just recently looked at it) yet I have never received a bill. I'm a first time renter so I made the mistake and assumed my landlord paid it. I got a paper on my door stating "PPL electric utilities does not have a customer of record for this service address. Please call with the correct date you moved it by (specific date) or your service may be terminated". I can't imagine how much this will cost. I'm wondering what will happen. I live in a mobile home on a property with other homes ran by 1 person.

Sounds like the person who rented you the place dod something hinky like tied in elelectrical service to another customer who had legal service. Is your line coming off someone elses property? Maybe they were getting big electrical bills because your ussge ran their bill up.
Id just give the owner the paperwork and and let them figure it out. Id just pretend I thought he was paying the bill. At the very least if they try to get you to pay the whole thing raise holy hell and say youll split it with him but you're not doing it alone.
I just talked to the people who lived here before us and they received electric bills prior but cancelled thier account. Also, my landlord is my sister's boyfriend. I know this will cause a LOT of problems.
I thought the same you, that our neighbors were paying our electric, but I casually brought it up in convo to them and they both said thier bill has been kind of the same for a while. I don't know what to do. Haven't called the electric company yet.
