I feel very stupid. I found a script online which tests the recent heartbleed bug vulnerability. I didn't realize what the script was actually doing. I thought that the purpose of the script was to tell you if a website was safe or not, so that you can know if it's ok to use the site.I thought I was supposed to test it on websites. I wasn't attempting to exploit anything. I really just didn't know what I was doing. I tested the script on my online banking website, and paypal, because a friend wanted to make sure paypal was safe. The script informed me that neither site was vulnerable. It was only later that I realized what the script was really trying to do. I didn't get any information or anything. I just wanted to know if it was safe to use sites I frequent. I think I read somewhere that the vulnerability doesn't leave any traces. Am I going to go to prison now? I feel stupid.
