Will a plant lean towards any source of light, or only to the light it uses for photosynthesis?

I'm growing tomatoes, and considering buying a new CFL bulb for my lamp. However, the plant leans towards the lamp already even though the bulb isn't CFL. Is the plant leaning this way because it's able to use this light for photosynthesis (so I won't need a new one), or simply because it's a form of light? How can I tell whether or not the lamp is benefitting the plant?

Yes it is benifiting the plant what the plant is doing is called positive tropism its where the plant grows towards the light.

Plants don't have eyes; they only respond to red light. All the other colors are reflected and that's why the leaves look green. Some plants turn to the light and some don't. Sunflowers only follow the sun when they are young.
