In England it is common to indicate membership in certain organizations by adding letters to your name. In academic circles one might use "PhD". In USA, lawyers sometimes add "Esq" which means esquire, a servant to a knight, which seems rather odd, but that is what they do. "KC" stands for Knights of Columbus, which is a Catholic group.
