I have a windows 10 laptop and my dad told me yesterday that our old Sims games would work on it, so I installed Sims Medieval and played it fine for ages. This morning I went on and it wanted to update. I remember doing all the updates way back when we had our old computer, so I clicked update. When it finished, I went on and loaded my saved game, but the screen was blank. I could see everything when inside a building, but everything outside was just a black mass. I restarted the laptop at my brother's suggestion, but it didn't stop. The game wanted to update again, so I let it thinking it might jolt it back into working order, but now when I click play on the launch screen it just doesn't come up. I click it once and it looks like it's about to load, but then nothing happens, and if I try to press play again, it just says that it can't load a game that's already loaded. I'm so confused!
Why won't Sims Medieval work on my laptop?

Could try running in compatibility mode.
I'd probably back up the saves (should be in C:\Users\-Your User Name here-\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims Medieval), reinstall and put them back. It's not too old, mayhap a thread somewhere relates a fix and there's ea's customer support, personally can't be bothered with the last.
Cheers.
Thank you, it's sorted now!
