Its not so much that we are not able, it is that we dont need it, not all the time. Much of the brain is reserved for memory storage and as such, we do not access those areas all the time. The misconception that we do not use much of our brain stems from confusion on this issue - it should say that we do not use all of our brain all of the time. If we were to access all of our brain at once, we would be feeling, thinking, and remembering far far more than we could handle, its impossible really.
