I am writing a song, and basing it around the story of Castalia, the Greek nymph who dived into a fountain while being chased by Apollo.
Why was Apollo chasing Castalia?

As far as I see, it was because Apollo was in love with her, and she refused to be with him, so she ran and hid in a spring near Delphi.

I found this on wikipedia:
Castalia was a nymph whom Apollo loved. She fled from him and dived into the spring at Delphi, at the base of Mt. Parnassos, which was then named after her. Water from this spring was sacred; it was used to clean the Delphian temples and inspire poets.
Hope this helps you.
I think story about Apollo and Daphne is much the same, but written about more elaborately.
