Why top gate system is used for ferrous metal and bottom gate system for non ferrous metals?

Ferrous metal hv low fluidity ..in bottom gating system it will create unfavorable temptreture gradient....and defect ocurring due to less fluidity...e.g. misrun ,cold shut
