Why my friend is trying to be cool?

There could be two reasons. One, she doesn't like you. Two, she's being mean maybe because she likes you and doesn't want to admit it. It's some kind of defensive thing that some people get. I wouldn't just ask her if she likes you, I recommend just being nice even though she is being mean.
