Remember when back in the day MTV shows us the music video of good artists instead of crappy artists and shows!

I guess that's because times are changing and contemporary music is becoming the best music for the ones who are living in these days... That's been the same decades ago with Beatles or Pink Floyd, or even earlier when classical music was "replaced" by new music and people who used to listen to classical music would also say "why these silly guys listen to this crappy music? Is good music dead?"
