Why is there a need to change from paper records to electronic records?

it is needed because if we are keeping record in paper someone may tear it or may throw it or it may be misplaced but it wont happen in electronic records

i agree to the first answer and additional to that it is more easy to update, trackdown and recover the files if we will put in to electronic records
