I would like to know the reason why our minimum drinking age is 18. I've looked everywhere but cant get a specific reason for why. I know that it was put in place under the licensing act of 2003 but I want to know if anything happened to cause it to be 18? Thank you.

Because the age of consent in Britain is as we say is 18 years old. In America and some other countries it is 21.
The use of legal drugs, such as alcohol and tobacco, among youths has many experts—and parents—worried. Reports the UN Chronicle: “Over the past 30 to 40 years, according to WHO [World Health Organization], increasing percentages of children and adolescents have begun to drink alcohol; the quantities and frequency of consumption have increased; and the age at which drinking begins has declined.”
Each country have their rules and regulations for example in Britain the retirement age is 63 here in America is 65-67.
