Why is radio useful?

I am doing a research in the internet about this topic and i had difficulties finding why is radio useful. I would like an answer about this!

Good question... But i don't have many answers: 1- help us improve our imagination by making our own pictures in our mind.... 2- getting news from all ove the world in different language.... 3-it also used for spying....4- communication by people on ships and on aeroplanes.......  That is all what i can say.. =)

It depends on what radio you're talking about. If it's a car radio, it's main use is for entertainment. 
CB radios are for 2 way communication

Shortwave radios can reach worldwide and are for entertainment and communication. You could talk to someone half a world away
