I have a large, heavy-duty Hunter ceiling fan, with light fixtures. Two days ago it stopped working, but the lights continue to work fine (so I don't think it's an electricity issue). Also, what is very odd, they stopped working very gradually. At first they just seemed slower than usual, then they slowed to barely moving at all (this is over the space of about 24 hours), then they stopped, but would start again if I gave them a little push. The next morning they had stopped completely and won't respond to the pull cord. This is why I don't think it's a pull-cord problem. Is the motor burned out? If so, can anything be done outside of replacing the entire fan unit? Thanks in advance.
