I am a new resident in US. While searching for houses, I am interested in condo houses with a shared parking lot. The parking lot goes straight to the back door where the kitchen is. For me it is strange to go to the house by kitchen. Shouldn't the most used entry be the front door -- to the living room? Thanks!

A wise buyer considers the distance he has to carry groceries from the car to the pantry, the distance he has to carry cooked food from the kitchen to the patio, the distance he has to carry laundry to the washer and back to the bedroom(s), and a few other distances. It is rare for the resident to use the front door unless that is the only door to the place.
