Why is it good for the societies to allow for the advancement of a few over the others?

Who said this is good?
The trickle-down effect isn´t what they hoped.
Trickle-down theory means it is good that some people made a lot of money so they can spend it and other people will benefit from it.
Sounds good but didn´t work as you can see in a lot of societies.

The question exposes a badly warped attitude and gross ignorance of reality. Societies do not "allow" advancement, although they might do a lot of insane things to prevent advancement. Any discussion of honesty reveals that people advance their own situations by advancing the situation of their fellows and reaping the reward that goes with that activity. Society's only option is to steal the reward. If you assume that stealing is bad, then your premise is demonstrated (not exactly proved, since you had to assume a judgment of good versus bad).
