Because cheesecake is a cake not a pie. Cake is that which is baked good made of flour, sugar, fat, eggs and cheese etc. Pie is of two types fruit pie and custard pie. Fruit pie is made of all types of fruits like apple, blueberry etc. but custard pie is made of with milk, sugar, egg yolk etc.

Not really. The main difference is that a pie is a pastry crust filled with various ingredients, whereas cake is comprised of the pastry (flour, eggs, liquid) mixed with these ingredients. In a cheesecake, a large quantity of cheese is mixed with eggs and a bit of flour, baked slowly over a base (cakes may have layers), however not topped with any form of pastry - the apparent rigidity comes from the eggs.
Notwithstanding, mayhap you were served a different kind of grub, so that could be (and denoted) aught in existence. Mine shows up on search engines.
