I need some help on my presentation and need to talk about why early deaths are tragic. It has to refer to Chris McCandless from Into the wild book.
Why is an early death such a tragedy?

Well, I don't know of this particular character, but this answer might give you some ideas for your presentation. First, a tragedy is defined as:
1.an event causing great suffering, destruction, and distress, such as a serious accident, crime, or natural catastrophe.
2.a play dealing with tragic events and having an unhappy ending, especially one concerning the downfall of the main character.
So an early death would cause great distress to the acquaintances of the young person, and would also bring hopelessness: if someone so young can die, then how long can I live. ( this relates to the first definition)
Second, the death of the young person will cause sadness, and create a sad ending for one character, also impacting the main character in a sad way, turning the book into a tragedy.
Early death or late death is not in our hands. When will we realize the Truth that we don't choose our birth - where we are born, to whom we are born, when we are born, male or female? It is not in our hands. And just like birth is not in our hands, death is not in our hands. Death will happen at the appointed time, therefore, let us learn to surrender, not wonder. Let us realize that the Soul has nothing to do with birth and death. Soul is the power of the Divine, that gives life. Our birth and death is controlled by the law of Karma, the universal law of Action and Reaction, which states - as you sow, so shall you reap. When we realize the Truth, we will not wonder about early death - we will surrender to the Divine.
