Why is 1+1 always equals 2?

Do we have a logical way of proving it ? Or we've to just remember it , just because we were told by our teachers/parents ?

Answer

Not by logic or parents or teacher. It is a part of us. Even animals can do it. We are created in this way. Always 1 added to 1 equals 2. On fingers we can do it. No need to keep it by heart.
