Why don't students like wearing a compulsory hat at school? Paragraph please :)?

Hi I am 16 and the reason to this question is because when you tell a kid to do something they are gonna do the complete opposite of what you say, just because you are older then them and they have to listen to you but they don't want to be told what they have to do.
