Why does YouTube stop my internet from working?

You might have a bad connection. Go to
www.google.com/search?q=internet+speed+test
Pick a service you like and get tested.
If it's less than it's supposed to be, contact your isp.

My speed is actually higher than its supposed to and the network switches off only when im using YouTube. So gaming, downloading games etc works just fine

You don't say where you are. That matters. Go to unblockvideos.com/ and see what happens.

Do you have more than one tab running? Or more than one program or app running? That could be the problem.

Or your graphics card is causing your computer to crash. Some computers run a bit slower than others and can't handle too much video playback
