One day I saw a bird build it's nest on my porch light, then when it was finish the bird flew away and never came back. Where did it go? Did the bird abandoned it's nest?

One day I saw a bird build it's nest on my porch light, then when it was finish the bird flew away and never came back. Where did it go? Did the bird abandoned it's nest?

There were no sign of eggs in the nest
maybe it went to find a mate.
