I've heard that oxygen level in wells drop at night. Is this due to plant respiration that take place at night or is oxygen being displaced by some other gases? Why at night?
Why does oxygen level in water wells drop at night?

yes ur right ..
At day plants preapre food by consuming co2 and release oxygen ...but at night they stop making of food because absence of sunlight..so they do respiration like humans take oxygen and release co2
Do not confuse with processes making of food
by plant which is photo synthesis and respirationin plants.is in which plant take oxygen and release co2 plant have both
1.photosynthesis(making of food)
2.respiration(taking o2 and releasing co2 like humans)
So at night plants do not consume co2 ..so animal humans plants all taking oxygen and releasing co2 so co2 concentration increases and oxygen decreases
