if they occur frequently and quite heavy, then she should see her doctor. Most nosebleeds occur becaomse of a minor irritation or cold. Other common causes include injury, blowing the nose very hard, very cold or very dry air, allergic rhinitis, upper respiratory infection, blood thinners, nasal spray, chemical irritants, and repeated sneezing. Repeated nosebleeds can be a symptom of another disease such as high blood pressure, allergies, a bleeding disorder, or a tumor in the nose or sinuses. Occasionally a blood vessel in the nose needs to be cauterized. In this case it would be best to see your doctor for an exam and testing to determine what the exact cause may be.
