Why does my fuel tank keep lowering? It goes from 75 mpg to 40 in ten minutes. Says fuel comp error?

The mpg depends on how you drive it. It factors in highway vs city and how often you are braking and starting again. So if you start off on the highway you could be at 75 and when you get off and are stuck in traffic it will go down.
