Whenever I leave the house, it doesn't matter if it we are going to school, church, McDonalds, or a baseball game, I have to tuck in my shirt and wear a belt. Even if it was just a T-shirt, I have to tuck it in. My dad won't even let me walk into my middle school unless my shirt tucked is tucked in with a belt, and frankly, it's a little embarrassing. He says it looks "manly", but I think otherwise. My friends call me a nerd, and I don't know what to do!!!
Why does my dad force me to tuck in my shirt every time I leave the house?

It's an investment in the future. People who maintain good grooming tend to make more money than slobs. You know, like maybe you can afford to support him when he is old.
Another reason is that people like to feel proud of a kid when they are seen together in public. You do want your dad to be proud of you, right? I mean he doesn't owe that to you, you have to earn it.
Have you tried talking to him, explaining that you feel uncomfortable doing it as its making you stick out like a sore thumb. If he doesn't understand that and there is no middle ground or compromise like tucking your shirt in and wearing a belt when you are out with him and the family... but not tucking it in when you are with your friends then he is being unreasonable. You standing up for yourself is more "manly" than just tucking your shirt in.
