Soooo that's basically it. She's been doing it for months, and all she could describe it as " Like when you yawn, and you don't fully yawn, so you keep trying until you get it right" is this serious? Should I be alarmed or just shrug it off? Help!

Well, since yawning is caused by fatigue she might experience a slight tiredness.
There are multiple reason for being exceptionally tired. lack of iron etc. How energic is your daughter? Is she more the fidgeter or the sleeping pill type of girl?
From my own experience I can say that there are just people who tend to yawn more often. Me, myself, I do a lot of yawning and sprawling, I did even more so when i was a teen. Sometimes I don't really need to yawn but there's just the urge and I give in, because it feels so good (even from writing this i got tears from yawning.). I guess it's like scratching your back for a second time.
Sometimes you get a more satisfying yawning if you sprawl at the same time. Maybe your daughter could try that. Because it seams to satisfy me for a while. But she shouldn't do that all too overtly because some people might feel annoyed or percive it as unrespectful behaviour towards them (some of my teachers got pretty mad...).
Hope I could help! Anyway,
Thanks for your help, my daughter usually goes to sleep around 10:30 and wakes up at 7, so I don't know if that's the problem or not but I'm sure the sprawling technique will work!
