I've sort of noticed when people break their legs they cover their eyes and not look at it. Other people will also tell you not to look at your leg when it is broken. Why is this?

Probably cause it hurts more, when you look at a place on your body which you broke or injured, your muscle sometimes tenses up due to you looking at the place of injury and thinking about it. It happens to a lot of people, in example have you ever cut your finger but not notice anything but until you start seeing blood and check from where it is coming and you notice the cut that's when it really starts to hurt, its just your brain reacting to the injury.
