Why do storms not have ethnically diverse names?

Storms don't have names, we call them names. That is because it's such a bummer to talk about "this one over here" and "that one over there". We have a list of words that are considered names, and we take some of those and make a list of names that we might use for storms. People of other ethnicities are free to do the same.
