Why do sociologist defined society as a social structure?

Any time you are with people you are in a social structure, it could be as small as the friends or family you live with or as big as an entire city or a company/organization etc.

I don't know what scientology says about social structures, but they are a social structure as well. They would be stupid if they said they weren't a social structure.
