Why do humans have so many different parts? To survive?

When you observe something, that is science. When you ask why, that is religion. Two major factions exist to answer that question: Intelligent Design, and Evolutionary Biology. Both are unscientific.

There is no straight answer to your question. We observe that plants have many parts, and perhaps that leads to observable benefits, but science does not ask "Why?"
