Please, for the love of God, answer me.

Nobody says it has to make sense.
I do
Jewels is a thorn okay but he is okay.
The okay says they heard you. The but is NOt butt, but says there is disagreement.
I have known English teachers who would have gone running screaming into the woods for that "ok but".
Welcome to the land of LOL and sob and lack of even caring about what English means.
did I put enough English on that ball.
relax don't do it, anything that goes to it. drum drum drum drum.
You misread my question.
THEY START A SENTENCE WITH OK BUT. NO ONE HAS SAID ANYTHING TO THEM.
No one said anything about religion. I could have said "for the love of squirrels."
"Ok, but" just sounds really wrong when it comes to beginning a sentence. Like, the person has not been presented with anything, they're the one starting the conversation with "ok ,but" No one else has said anything yet.
