For others . . . i just don't get why they pray for others . . . like to God or something . . .
Why do people like to pray for others?
Added 3+ months ago:
Like for example, my grandad died yesterday, and suddenly all my family members are crying saying, "God bless you Frank! God bless you!" or "We all love you in Heaven Frank." But I always think my family are babies . . . big slow poke whiney babies who only care about themselves and not me . . . and I KNOW that I can be cool, or extrordinary . . . just my family are too chicken to say it . . . they always say they love my little brother AJ, and older sister Daphne, and never say they like 11 year old EJ Harper. They say they hate me, spank me, punch me, hit me, want to send me to prison in which I never do anything illegal.
What's the point in life and praying in my family? Please help me thank you so much I appreciated it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From,
Very Angry and Heartbroken EJ Harper

Prayers for the well-being of others help us to combat selfishness and to grow in compassion and empathy.
Is anyone listening?’ One writer expressed the view that prayer is just “a form of therapy . . . like talking to your pet fish.” Some medical authorities have a similar view, calling prayer a form of “alternative medicine.” or just going through a meaningless exercise or, at best, getting some therapeutic benefit.
In contrast, the Bible presents prayer as much more than just a form of therapy. It tells us that someone really is listening to prayers that are made in the right way and for the right thing.
