I'm making a small research wherein I asked people to name as many people and things as they can that they love. They don't name themselves. When I ask them, "Do you love yourself?" They say they do but they forgot to include themselves on the list. Why do you think is this so? I'd like to hear your thoughts on this. Thank you so much in advance.
Why do people forget to name themselves when they're asked to name people and things that they love?

I think it might be due to the way they were brought up & how society views those
who do. When I was younger I used to praise myself for being how I was & loving it.
My Mom would say, self love stinks. My response was if you can't love yourself who
can you love. People also think your full of yourself & your selfish & conceded if
you do.
