Their sadness: them crying, things that cause the crying, emotional and physical pain. Others: mostly others humans but also animals (concerning people that cry for things like sad animal adverts.)

We cry for other's suffering because we feel bad for the pain that others are experiencing, just as we would feel bad if we had to experience the same pain. However, not everybody cries for everybody. We normally cry for the ones who are near and dear to us, our family, our friends, because we somehow feel they are close to us, related to us. If our enemy was to suffer, it would be rare for us to cry, we may even celebrate. Therefore, we must understand this law of relativity and understand what is crying, what is the meaning of others, what is the meaning of sadness. We do not realize that we are the Divine Soul, not the body that can cry, not even the mind that becomes sad. When we realize we are the Divine Soul, we will transcend sadness and crying and live in a state of bliss and peace.
