Why do people always use those ugly filters on Instagram?

I've noticed some people post photos through Instagram and they always seem to have some kind of filter on,. Isn't there any way to post pics without these unsightly filters?

You can by just using the camera normally. But some people like to use filters because they dont like how they normally look

You can post without using any filter. Most people just use them since they are not satisfied with the original shot so it could make them look "better"
