Why do led tv looks dim when we look from side?

Because the backlighting in the TV is carried out using LEDs and LEDs are directional meaning that the majority of the light they produce is focussed in one direction. So if you were looking at the TV straight on, it would look brighter because a large percentage of the light generated would be pointing towards you, but if you looked from the side the light wouldn't be pointing completely in that direction.
