Why do inherently good people turn a blind eye to appalling injustices?

Yes, this is mostly because people don't feel responsible nor powerful enough to try and change anything, or they may think that someone else may be better equip to deal with these injustice than themselves. I could expand on it, but it would sound pretty repetitive, there's no real reason for it.
