Why do I need to download programs that are suppose to be on my new computer?

My computer tells me I need to download programs for a price that are supposed to be already installed?

What programs/types of programs was it asking you to buy?  These specifics are important 'cause they could just be add-ons or potential malware.

If it's your Antivirus telling to purchase it, then the possible case is that your retailer has installed a trial version of that Antivirus and when the trial period is coming to an end, it is telling you to buy the premium version of it. 

Other than that, it can be a malware infection.
