I have a severe anxiety disorder and severe depression, whenever someone close to me cry's or gets depressed I have a massive anxiety attack whilst trying to comfort them. It's almost as if my body doesn't want me to, even though I do.

i also have had to learn to deal with this and call it being over empathic. meaning you can feel other people's emotions almost as if they're you own. I've learned to be able to turn it off when i need to most times, but it took years. and it doesn't help that people will sense this about you and gravitate to you even when they are not conscious that they are doing it. learn to use it. it is a gift when used correctly
conversely, you might have issues with that kind of intimacy and feel the need to withdraw. idk. only you will know this.
The first line of defense against depression and anxiety is B vitamins. Get nutritional yeast powder and/or B-100 pills. Vitamin B2 is a water soluble dye that turns urine bright yellow. When the color fades, it's time for another dose. Read some books about nutrition so you know how to eat right.
conversely it could be that you have intimacy issues and don't like people near you expressing themselves in this way. idk only you can be sure of which it is
